My name is Frank Frausto and I’m a Level 1 sommelier. What makes this blog different from the rest is that I’m not in the wine industry. I’m a normal guy with a passion for wine. I don’t work in a restaurant or bar. I don’t have a wine cellar stocked with expensive Bordeauxs. I starting studying wine because I enjoy drinking wine. You know what I found? It’s really not that complicated! There’s no need for wine to be confusing, stuffy and snobby.
So why are there so many complicated wine books, blogs and resources out there?
Most wine blogs geared toward the upper crust of the wine community and get so intimidated that they never even start. Written by wine snobs for wine snobs. This blog seeks to give you simple wine education without the stuffy wine attitude. Simple, no-nonsense language and reviews on wine that you can afford, not just $300 bottles of expensive French wine.
What You’ll Learn From This Blog
Wine Reviews- Wine for real people will focus on honest reviews on wine. I hope to show that expensive wine doesn’t always mean good wine. If it doesn’t taste good, I’ll tell you. I’ll also be blogging about great wines that the average person can afford. That way you can buy with confidence.
Product Reviews- Wine aerators, decanters, crystal stemware, electronic corkscrews. There’s a ton of wine paraphernalia out there that promisses to improve the taste of your wine. Most of this is crap. You’ll get honest product reviews. I’ve tested a lot of equipment and will tell you which are worth your money and which you can pass on.
A Real-World Wine Education- I’ll teach you a few things make you more knowledgeable about wine so you can converse with other wine people.
